Mr Peter Marais
Professional Summary:
Mr Peter Charles Marais is a Professional Engineer with over 38 years of experience in civil aviation, air navigation services, and executive leadership. He holds a B.Eng (Electronic) from the University of Pretoria and is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He has also completed advanced management and executive development programmes through UNISA’s School for Business Leadership.
Mr Marais has held numerous senior leadership roles within Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS), including General Manager positions across Technical Services, Business Development, Aviation Training, and Operations, as well as serving as Acting CEO and Interim Chief Operating Officer. Internationally, he served as Head of Air Navigation Services for the Namibia Civil Aviation Authority. His career highlights include leading large‑scale infrastructure modernisation programmes, regional aviation collaboration initiatives within SADC, and contributing at a global level through ICAO. He brings deep technical expertise, regulatory insight, and strategic governance experience to the Board.
